TPD REGULATIONS PROHIBIT E-LIQUID FROM CONTAINING THE FOLLOWING SUBSTANCES:

TPD prohibited substances

Vitamins or other additives that create the impression that tobacco products provide health benefits or reduce health risks;

Caffeine or taurine or other additives and stimulant compounds associated with energy and vitality;

Additives with emissions;

Additives with CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic, toxic for reproduction) properties in unburned form.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS

TPD other requirements

A comprehensive toxicological assessment of compounds in e-liquid and their emissions is required;

The primary material used to fill the bottle shall be recycled Type 1 PET plastic;

Advertisements are strictly limited;

Cross-border selling restrictions may apply;

Retailers and manufacturers must share market data and trends with competent authorities;

Member states can effectively ban individual products if sufficiently reliable data are available.
